For £279 after CAA EC rebate I think it would be hard for any manufacturer to beat in the near future, as a product or even as an uplift on an existing product that does more. I would use the [EC](https://www.caa.co.uk/General-aviation/Aircraft-ownership-and-maintenance/Electronic-Conspicuity-devices/) rebate for the Sky Echo 2 device now. [Reasons for that here.](https://aeroplaying.uk/I/+/EC) I would agree with others that say (Power) Flarm (with Tx) is useful to HG and PG in the near term, having FLARM is better than nothing, but it isn't the way the industry is going and it can be built or will appear more cheaply in other products anyway. My thinking is this: If there is an airprox or worse with an aircraft that is in contact with AIS/ATC then the feedback from public perception could be far more sympathetic if the free flyer had ADS-B instead of not having it. Flarm being proprietary could have some limitations, nevertheless I think it is best to have it for HG/PG/Gliding. Still I think we 'should' tick the box with ADS-B as well and the EC subsidy + Sky Echo 2 does that for £279. Go through the hoops here: https://portal.caa.co.uk/ it is quite painful ..
